Antique 1913 Enameled Swedish 830 Silver Sverige Souvenir Spoon King Gustav V
Regular price
$84.00
Presented is an excellent quality, antique silver souvenir spoon made in or before 1913 to represent the country of Sweden. The spoon is crafted from at least .830 purity silver and features a portrait of Swedish King Gustaf V with "Sverige" written below, framed with pierced foliate silverwork, on the finial and the national emblem of the three crowns on a field of blue in the bowl in brightly colored enamel. Blue and white enamel stripe the center of half of the slender handle. Silver scroll and acanthus embellishments accent the handle as well, front and back.
The back of the spoon finial is stamped with indistinct hallmarks we believe indicate it was produced in Germany. More distinct is an inscription, "Till Liesel 21/10/13" (In English translates to "To Elizabeth 10/21/1913").
This century old antique spoon is in excellent condition. There is a tiny enamel chip obliterating the last 'e' in "Sverige", as well as one chip in the bowl.
Dimensions: 5 1/4 in length. Portrait is 3/4 inches by 1/2 inch.
Weight: 18 grams
