Antique 1912 English Sterling Silver Kings Fish Fork Knife Set Elephant Crest
Regular price
$1,080.00
Presented is a stunning, heavy weight, English sterling fish set in the famous King's pattern. The handles have a lovely cascading shell design. The hollow handles are thick and heavy. No weighting, always a sign of great quality! This set was made by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd, one of the finest makers in the world. The fork and the knife have matching crests. The crests are of an elephant's head with the trunk lifted high, symbolizing good luck.
Both pieces were made by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd., and bear their mark. They also have the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, and an R date letter for 1912.
Both pieces are in excellent condition. Minor surface abrasions are present from light use.. The knife has a well done solder repair (see photographs). This is really inconsequential and virtually invisible. There are no breaks, no dents, no splits, no monogram removals and no problems..
The fork is 10 inches long; the knife is 12 inches long.
Together, they weigh 311 grams or 11 ounces.
