Presented is an antique, Dutch silver salad serving set made in 1906. This Victorian style set includes a huge, matching fork and spoon. The handles are done in an intricate, openwork form and the tops are adorn with full figural ships. The tines and bowl are hand chased with a kitchen scene and an inscription that reads: Recipe by Jan Steen.
Each piece bears the Minerva head mark, the lion passant for a minimum of 833 purity silver and a date letter W for the year 1906.
This set is in excellent condition for its age. There has been an old solder repair to the shaft of the spoon, but this is only noticeable if you are closely inspecting the piece. The designs are crisp and there are no damages.
