Presented is a quality antique sterling silver and stoneware mustard pot made by Royal Doulton. The mustard pot is decorated with white relief work depicting tavern scenes and a windmill with hounds along the bottom. The relief work is done on a tan ground with a wide band of brown below the sterling silver rim. The handle has elegant shell, flower, and leaf decoration at the lower juncture of the handle and the body. The mustard pot has a sterling silver rim and hinged cover with a notch to accommodate the sterling silver mustard spoon. The lid has a shell form thumbpiece and is monogrammed P.F. The mustard spoon has a classic twist handle with a ball at the tip.

The mustard pot is impressed on the underside with the maker’s mark for Royal Doulton with England below. This mark was used from 1902 to 1956. The sterling silver rim is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the city mark for Chester, the date letter “F” for 1906, and a maker’s mark of CS FS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd. The mustard spoon has the same hallmarks as the rim excepting the date letter which appears to be “O” for 1914.

The condition is excellent. There are no chips, no cracks, no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.

The mustard pot is 2 3/4 inches wide across the handle and 2 7/8 inches tall.
