Presented is a fantastic Gorham sterling silver covered serving dish. This piece dates to 1903. The dish is probably made in a specific pattern, but we don't know. The dish has a classic design, with an applied band of shell and scroll decoration around the rim and top of the lid. This is a popular motif that would be easy to match with a variety of patterns. The handle on the lid of the dish can be removed, and the lid can be used as a separate serving dish. Both the lid and the dish have a monogram of CEW in elegant script.

This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The underside of the piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the maker's mark for Gorham, as well as a year mark in the shape of a pitcher, for 1903. The removable handle is also marked sterling.

The dish measures about 10 by 7 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches, LxWxH.

This piece weighs 724 grams or 25.5 regular ounces.
