Antique 1901 English Sterling Silver Floral Repousse Dresser Tray/Dish 11/34"x8"
Regular price
$1,000.80
Presented is a fabulous quality English sterling silver dresser or vanity tray of generous size; of course this tray could be used for many things other than just a woman's vanity, whatever you like. This piece is beautifully hand-chased on the entire base of the tray, with various scrolls and flowers amid a trellis background, all surrounded by a stippled background. There is a large cartouche in the center of the tray bearing the monogram ADS.
This piece is fully hallmarked on the bottom of the tray as shown in photographs with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor mark for the city of Birmingham, the date letter 'b' for 1901, and the maker's mark 'A&J Z' for A. and J. Zimmerman.
This piece is in fabulous overall condition. There are a few very tiny dings to the center cartouche that holds the monogram. These small dings can be seen in the photograph that shows the monogram up close, as you can see, quite minor. There are no other dents, no breaks, no splits, no repairs, no monogram removals, and no other problems.
The tray measures 11 3/4 inches by 8 inches. The height to the top of the rim is 3/4 inches. This tray weighs 296 grams or 10.37 ounces.
