Presented is an antique, German silver serving spoon made in Hanau during the 1890s. This late 19th century piece is done in a classic Dutch Colonial form and the decorative, twist form shaft has a detailed, cast silver ship with huge sails. The boat looks like a war ship, frigate or brigantine.
The back of the bowl bears some pseudo-hallmarks from Hanau, Germany. Tested and guaranteed to be at least 830 purity silver.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There are no damages or repairs.
