Presented is a wonderful Victorian English sterling silver and cut glass salad serving set. This set was made by John Grinsell & Sons and dates to 1885. The set consists of a spoon and fork, with fancy cut glass handles. The bowl of the spoon and the tines of the fork have a scalloped shell design. Use these fabulous pieces to serve salad, lobster, or whatever else you like, as a set or individually.

The set is in great overall condition. The cut glass handles have some knicks and fleabites, with a chip to the end on both the spoon and the fork. The fork has had a repair to one of its tines. There are no monograms and no monogram removals.

Each piece is hallmarked on the back of the stem with the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter I for 1885, the Queen Victoria's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for John Grinsell & Sons. The bolster of the handle on each piece is also marked with the lion passant.

Both of the serving pieces are about 10 3/4 inches long.
