Presented is a pretty, Dutch silver tomato server made in 1876. The rounded handle and the flat base are both beautifully engraved with sinuous flowers and scroll decorations. This piece has never been monogrammed. Of course this piece could be used for serving many different types of food.
The back is marked with the lion passant for .833 purity silver, the Minerva head duty mark, and a date letter r for the year 1876.
This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is a slight bend to the base, but no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The server measures 8 inches long and weighs 36.3 grams.
