Regular price
$712.80
Presented is a great sterling silver serving set made by Durgin and retailed by Crosby & Foss of Boston, who were in business primarily during the 1870s. This pair includes a large serving fork and a fish server. This set is in the Windsor pattern, which was patented in 1860 or the French Antique pattern, which was patented in 1870. Both handles are elaborately engraved with a monogram of the letters W and M. The bases are engraved with lovely bright cut roses and leaves. The engraving on both pieces match.
The back of each is marked with the earliest Durgin hallmark, sterling and Crosy & Foss.
This set is in fabulous condition, especially for its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The fork measures 9 1/2 inches long, the server measures 11 5/8 inches long and the combined weight of the pair is 259.7 grams or 9.2 ounces.
