Presented is an antique Russian silver serving spoon made by Ivan Gubkin of Moscow in 1862. The handle is in the classic Fiddle pattern and the top is engraved with a monogram of the initials SK. This piece is pre-Russian revolution and the 84 silver purity mark is out of 96 parts so it is .875 purity silver.

The back is marked with the Moscow assay mark with the 84 for .875 purity silver, 1862 for the year and a maker’s mark for Ivan Gubkin.

This piece is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age. The bowl has been polished to a high finish, probably after a dent was removed. There is wear commensurate with age and use but there are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.

The spoon measures 8 1/2 inches long and weighs 70 grams or 2.5 ounces.
