Presented is an antique, Dutch silver serving fork made in 1852. This 19th century piece is very ornate and large. The top is done in the form of a crest or flag and bears the motto Pavlus Deviana Te Cit Et Inve. The crest bears a warrior goddess, probably Athena, with lions head medallions on either side and muses above her head. The shaft is done in an openwork twist form and has cherub or angel accents.

The fork bears old Dutch duty marks as well as a date letter S for the year 1852.

This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are pretty crisp. The fork portion with the tines at the end is a replacement, but as you can see from the hallmarks, it is also an antique, Dutch silver piece.

Length: 11 1/4 inches.

Weight: 137 grams or 4.8 ounces.
