Presented is a fabulous miniature portrait pendant or brooch, set in a 10 karat gold frame. This piece is likely of Italian make and dates to the late 1800's. The portrait is beautifully hand painted on porcelain, very detailed and well done, depicting a dark haired boy wearing earrings and a necklace.

The gold frame is done in a simple, classical style, with a ropetwist design around the bezel. This piece has an old C style clasp as well as a hinged bail, so it can be worn as a brooch or a pendant.
This piece is in great condition. The clasp functions well and closes nicely. The portrait is in great shape, with no chips and no losses. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The brooch is stamped and guaranteed 10 karat gold, on the pin shaft.
The brooch measures about 3 inches long, including the bail/loop at the top, and about 2 1/4 inches across.
The brooch weighs 30.3 grams.
