Presented is an antique, English sterling silver sugar bowl or dish made by Charles Reily and George Storer of London in 1832. This early 19th century, William IV piece is heavy for its size. The bowl is raised on 4 decorative feet and has two large handles. The whole piece is hand cast( in the handles) and hand chased with repousse flowers, leaves and shells on the entirety. This piece has never been monogrammed.
The underside is marked with the leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter r for the year 1832 and a maker's mark for Charles Reily and George Storer.
This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. I can find no dents and no repairs.
The bowl measures 8 3/4 from handle to handle and is 5 1/2 inches tall.
Weight: 517 grams or 18.2 ounces.
