Presented is a fantastic Georgian English sterling silver serving spoon. This piece dates to 1823. The spoon is done in the popular 'fiddle and shell' design. The terminal has a nice crest of a tree stump and branch. The spoon is made from thick, heavy silver, with great craftsmanship. This piece has stood the test of time remarkably well, and is clean and completely useable today.

This piece is hallmarked on the stem with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter h for 1823, the King George IV head duty mark, and the maker's mark for William Chawner II.

This piece is in great condition. There is some surface wear, as we have not buffed these pieces. The details and the hallmarks are quite crisp. No dents, no splits, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

The spoon is approximately 8 7/8 inches long.

The spoon weighs 99 grams.
