Presented is an antique, English sterling silver sherry liquor bottle/decanter label or tag made in London by Thomas & James Phipps in 1819. This early 19th century, Georgian piece is a hand engraved label for a bottle of sherry wine.
The back is marked with a lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter d for th year 1819 and a maker's mark for Thomas and James Phipps.
This piece is in excellent overall condition considering its age. There is only very minimal surface wear.
