Presented is a fantastic quality Georgian English sterling silver stuffing or platter spoon from 1809. This spoon is done in a very simple and elegant style, and is very sturdy and well-made. This spoon has a long handle and a large bowl, making it suitable for pretty much any general serving purpose. The terminal of the handle is monogrammed GL in gothic script under a crest of a lion.

This piece is hallmarked on the back of the terminal with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter O for 1809, the King George III head duty mark, and the maker's mark for George Smith III & William Fearn.

This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some slight surface wear to the spoon, commensurate with age and use. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This piece is approximately 12 1/2 inches long.

This piece weighs 131.4 grams or 4.6 ounces.
