Presented is an antique, English sterling silver serving spoon made by Peter and Anne Bateman of London in 1809. The rounded hand is finely hand engraved with a pretty flower and leaf design. The bowl has a gold wash and it is beautifully hand chased with detailed strawberries and leaves.


 

The back of the handle is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter 0 for the year 1809 and a maker’s mark for Peter and Anne Bateman. 


 

This piece is in great condition, especially for its age. There is minimal surface wear and no damages or repairs.
