Presented is an antique, sterling silver serving spoon made by Richard Crossley & George Smith IV of London in 1808. This Georgian, early 19th century piece has a hand engraved handle that has never been monogrammed and an ornately chased bowl with a gold wash.
The back is marked with the leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter N for the year 1808, a duty mark of the king's head and a maker's mark for Richard Crossley & George Smith IV.
This piece is in excellent overall condition and the designs are crisp. There is minimal surface wear commensurate with age and use, but no damages and no repairs.
Length: 8 1/2 inches.
Weight: 62 grams or 2.2 ounces.
