Presented is an antique, Irish sterling silver serving spoon made in Dublin in 1805. This very early 19th century piece has a very decorative, hand chased bowl featuring fruit designs and a deep gold wash. The front of the handle is finely hand engraved with decorations and has never been monogrammed.
The back is marked with the Hibernia mark for sterling silver, the crowned harp symbol for the city of Dublin, the date letter I for the year 1805 and a maker's mark JS.
This piece is in great overall condition for its age and the designs are very crisp.
