Antique 1800s Nice Gorham Sterling Silver Side Handle Pot Serving Dish
Presented is a fabulous Gorham sterling silver handled serving dish or pot. This piece dates to the late 1800s. The dish has a beautifully turned handle extending from the side. We aren't sure what the intended purpose of this piece was, possibly part of a burner or brazier setup, but it's certainly an interesting and very handsome serving piece.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially for its age. There are a few small dings to the underside that can be taken out. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The underside of the piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the maker's mark for Gorham. Underneath are the letters EHX which likely indicate a custom order.
The dish measures about 12 inches from the end of the handle to the opposite side, and stands about 2 inches tall at the rim. The diameter of the dish, not including the handle, is about 5 3/4 inches.
This piece weighs 379 grams or 13.4 regular ounces.
