Presented is a Georgian sterling silver stuffing or serving spoon made in London by Richard Crossley in 1794. This antique piece is in a traditional form and it has an old, original engraving of a crest depicting an arm holding up a branch or thistle.
The back of the handle is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter t for the year 1794 and a maker’s mark for Richard Crossley.
This piece is in excellent condition, especially for its age. There is wear commensurate with age and use but there are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures 10 7/8 inches long and weighs 91.6 grams or 3.2 ounces.
