Presented is an antique, English sterling silver stuffing or serving spoon made by George Smith III & William Fearn of London in 1792. This piece is in a classical form with a round-tipped handle. This piece is a good size and weight.
The back of the handle is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter r for the year 1792 and a maker’s mark for George Smith III and William Fearn.
This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age. There is surface wear commensurate with age and light use but there are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures 11 1/2 inches long and weighs 102 grams or 3.6 ounces.
