Presented is an antique, English sterling silver platter or large serving spoon made in London in 1791. This late 18th century, Georgian piece is done in a classic, rounded end form. The handle has never been monogrammed.
The back is marked with the crowned leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king's head( only the outline is visible), a date letter q for the year 1791 and a maker's mark. The maker's mark appears to be George Smith.
This piece is in excellent overall condition, especially for its age. There are no damages and no repairs.
