Presented is an antique, American coin silver stuffing or large serving spoon. The spoon was made in the 1790s. The handle of the spoon is beautifully engraved with bright cut designs. There is a cartouche at the tip of the handle that is monogrammed with the initials JEH.
The back of the spoon has a rest, which is unusual to see on such an early American spoon.
There is no maker's mark on this spoon, what you are seeing in the photo of the reverse is the knob of the rest.
