Presented is a wonderful English Georgian sterling silver marrow scoop spoon. This piece dates to 1775 and was made by William Sumner & Richard Crossley. The scoop is double ended, with a regular spoon end and a narrow scoop end for scooping marrow out of bones. Both the spoon end and the scoop end face the same way. The handle has light feather cut decorations up the sides, which is rarely seen on marrow scoops. This is a sturdy, well made piece of English silver, and would make an exceptional addition to any silver collection.

This piece is in great overall condition. The hallmarks are nice and clean. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, a date letter of U for 1775, and a maker's mark for William Sumner & Richard Crossley.

The marrow spoon is about 8 5/8 inches long.

The marrow spoon weighs 51.9 grams or 1.8 regular ounces.
