Presented is a great quality English Georgian sterling silver tea or coffee pot. This piece dates to 1775 and was likely made by William Collings. The pot is done in a lovely classical baluster form. The handle is beautifully carved in a scrolled form, made from attractive light brown wood. The spout is adorned with foliate and wave type decorations. The exterior of the pot is polished to a bright shine, while the interior is spotlessly clean. This is a superb piece, clean and ready for use or display.

This piece is in great condition. The hinge of the lid is in great shape, and the lid closes evenly. The wood handle is securely mounted and has no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. The silver has no splits, no leaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.

This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter U for 1775, and the maker's mark WC likely for William Collings. The lip of the lid is also hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver.

The pot stands about 12 1/2 inches tall.

The pot weighs 813 grams or 28.8 regular ounces. -jm
