Presented is a fabulous quality early English sterling silver tea or coffee pot. This piece dates to 1741 and was made by John Pollock. The pot is done in a lovely traditional form, with a bulbous body and a scrolled wooden handle. The interior of the pot is clean as can be. This is a fantastic and well made piece, and would be an exceptional addition to any English silver collection.
This piece is in great overall condition. The hinge of the lid is in great shape. The handle has some wear to the finish of the wood, but nothing excessive. There are no splits, no dents, no leaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This pot is really in fabulous shape, particularly considering its age of 272 years.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter f for 1741, and the maker's mark for John Pollock.
This pot stands about 10 inches tall.
This piece weighs 896 grams or 31.6 regular ounces.
