Presented is an antique, English Britannia standard silver serving spoon made by George Cox of London in 1707. Britannia silver is .958 purity, which is higher than .925 purity. This early 18th century, Queen Anne period piece is done in a classic dog nose form. The back of the handle has a traditional wedding monogram of the letter W over the letters T and S. The back of the bowl has a classic rat tail design.
This piece bears the lion's head erased mark for Britannia (958/1000) purity silver, a date letter m for the year 1707 and a maker's mark for George Cox.
This piece in good condition for its age. There is wear to the bowl and the tip is worn down a bit, but there are no major damages.
