Presented is an old, 14 karat yellow gold and black enameled locket made in American during the 1850s-1870s. This Victorian piece is thickly enameled in black on either panel, with an inlaid gold cartouche on the front. The cartouche has never been monogramed. The locket snaps shut with an audible click.
This piece has been tested with nitric acid and is guaranteed to be 14 karat gold.
This piece is in pretty good condition for its age. There are some chips to the enamel but none of the chips go through to the gold underneath and they can be filled in. The top bale or loop has been repaired, the top portion is solder. There are no other flaws or repairs.
