Presented is an elegant American Victorian 14K gold, agate and pearl locket. The front of the locket is bezel set with a lovely piece of brown agate with a 5.8 millimeter pearl at the center. The locket has a deep yellow 14K gold setting with a loop at the top so that it can easily be strung on a chain. The interior of the locket has the old piece of glass on one side so you can add a photograph or whatever you like, another photograph could easily be glued to the inside of the other side. The entire piece is exceptionally well made. The locket was made between 1860 and 1880.
The locket is not marked. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 14K gold.
The condition is excellent. The locket opens well and snaps securely shut. There are no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The locket measures 7/8 inch by 1 1/2 inches.
