Presented is an antique American coin silver tea or coffee spoon made in early 1800s by John Ferguson of Philadelphia. The handle is in a classic Coffin End pattern, which became very popular after the death of George Washington in 1799. The top of the handle is monogrammed with the initials JAW in a sinuous script.
The back is marked I Ferguson. This piece has been tested and is guaranteed to be coin silver purity.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures 6 1/8 inches long and weighs 14.5 grams.
