Presented is an amazing large brooch, in Mexican sterling silver, of a quetzal bird. It sits on a branch with two flowers that have a green stone in their centers. This is a vintage piece.
The quetzal is the national bird and the name of the currency in Guatemala.

The brooch is marked for 925 purity silver. It has the maker's mark “Prieto” and the address of the workshop in Mexico city: “Ave. Juarez 40”
This brooch is in excellent condition. It has a good safety catch for the pin.
This is a very large, stately piece. It really makes a wonderful statement!
