Presented is a really nice piece of 14K gold rush jewelry, likely from the
Alaskan gold rush, but possibly Californian. If the pin dates back to the
California gold rush, the pin clasp has been redone. The pin is in the form of
two batons held together with two gold beads. A real gold nugget sits in the
center of the batons. A large diamond is prong set on the side of the nugget.
The diamond is an old mine cut stone and is at least 15 points in size, if not
more. The nugget will be a very high carat, 22k to 24 k gold purity.
The pin is unmarked. We have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee the
setting to be 14K. The nugget, as mentioned earlier, is very high purity.
The pin is in excellent condition. The clasp is working well. There are no
breaks, no splits, no cracks, no dents and no repairs.
The pin measures approximately 1 3/4 inches long.
The pin weighs 7.0 grams.
