8 Antique c1873 Sterling Silver Gorham Palm Nut Seafood Picks

Presented is an attractive set of 8 old sterling silver nut picks by the Gorham Manufacturing Company. The picks are done in the elegant Palm pattern which was first produced in 1871. The handles are covered with a very fine matte finish on the front. The lobster picks were made between 1871-1875. The back of the picks are beautifully engraved with leaves and scrolls. Six of the picks are monogrammed on the front with the letter C in Gothic script and on the back with 1875. The remaining two picks are monogrammed on the front with the letter H in Gothic script.
The picks are marked on the reverse with Gorham’s old company hallmarks, Sterling for the silver purity, Pat 71 for the date 1871 when patented, and the retailer's mark.
The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no dings, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The picks are 4 7/8 inches long.
The total weight is 106.3 or 3.755 ounces.
