Presented is a wonderful set of 7 porcelain bread and butter plates made by La Ceramique (Jean Pouyat) of Limoges France. These old plates are from the late 1800s or early 1900s. Each plate is completely hand panted with beautiful flowers in various shades of pink and leaves along its ruffled rim. The edges are gilt. There are has been some wear to the gilding on a couple of the plates, as would be expected on pieces of this age.
The underside of each plate is marked JPL France for Jean Pouyat.
This set is in fabulous condition, especially for its age. There is one tiny chip to the rim of one plate but it is hardly visible from the top, as you can see in the photos below. There are no other chips, no cracks, no splits and no repairs.
Each plate measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter. Weight: 2 lbs 1 oz (923.2 grams)
