7 Antique 19th Century Spode Copeland England Porcelain Landscape Lunch Plates

Presented is an antique set of 7 porcelain or fine china lunch or salad plates made by Spode Copeland of England during the mid 1800s. This set was retailed by Gilman Collamore Co, one of the most high end retailers in New York, which operated between the 1820s and the 1880s. Each plate has a very decorative, off white or vanilla rim that is hand painted with medallions of roses and lovely landscape scenes. Each of the landscape vignettes is unique, not just because they are hand painted but because they each show a different scene-- mountains, ancient ruins by the seaside, a hill and countryside fence, etc. The rim and center have bands of gilt decoration, while the borders of the vignettes are finely done in raised, textured gold.
The underside of the plate is marked Spode Copelands China England and it has a retailers'a mark for Gilman Collamore & Co, New York.
This set is in excellent overall condition. There is minimal surface wear, and no damages or repairs.
