6 Antique c1790 Scottish Sterling Silver Coffee Demitasse Spoons 5 1/8"

Presented is a fine set of 6 Scottish sterling silver demitasse or coffee spoons. These spoons are in a simple but elegant form. The spoons are monogrammed with the initials EW in fine cursive on the top of the handle. These spoons were made between 1784-1800.

The spoons are stamped on the reverse with the Edinburgh thistle mark for Sterling silver, the duty mark of King George's head, and a maker’s mark of G&M overstamped on another mark.

The overall condition is excellent. The spoons have surface wear commensurate with age, but other than this, the spoons are in amazingly good shape. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monogram removals and no repairs.

The spoons are about 5 1/8 inches long.

The combined weight of the set is 67.7 grams or 2.39 ounces.
