Presented is an antique set of 6 American silver demitasse or coffee spoons made by Samuel Kirk & Son during the mid 19th century. This set was made in the Mayflower pattern, which was patented in 1846 and it is old, original production. The front of each handle is finely hand engraved with a swirl border cartouche and a monogram of the initials AAL.
The back of each piece is marked with the Kirk hallmark used on flatware between 1846 and 1861. The 10.15 purity mark was used in Baltimore for 846 purity silver, a little less than coin silver.
This set is in great overall condition. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and use, but no damages and no repairs.
