Presented is a fine set of 6 American coin silver tablespoons or serving spoons by Everard Benjamin & Company of New Haven, Connecticut. This firm was active around the 1830s and 1840s. The spoons are done in a classic Fiddle pattern and monogrammed ELW in script on the ends of the handles.
The spoons are hallmarked on the reverse with E. Benjamin for the maker. The spoons have been tested and are guaranteed to be coin silver purity.
The condition is excellent. The spoons have some surface wear commensurate with age and light use, but this is minor. There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The spoons are 9 inches long.
The total weight is 359.4 grams or 12.6 ounces. These spoons are very heavy, especially for coin silver.
