5 Antique 1879 David Andersen Norwegian Silver Soup / Place / Dessert Spoons

Presented is a fabulous set of 5 Norwegian silver soup, place, or dessert spoons. These spoons date to 1879 and were made by David Andersen. The spoons have an elegant twist form stem. The terminal of the handle features a design of crossed stalks of wheat, with a flower and what looks like a maple seed, all against a textured background. The back of the handle is smooth, and could easily be monogrammed or presented.

This set is in great condition. The details of the pattern on the handle are quite crisp. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Any black visible in the photos is only reflection.

The spoons are stamped on the back of the handle with the maker's mark for David Andersen, as well as the 13 1/4 lodig mark, for either 828 or 883 purity silver, depending on if the scale is out of 15 or out of 16.

Each spoon is about 7 5/8 inches long.

The total weight for the set is about 226 grams or 8.0 regular ounces.
