Presented is a very nice Danish silver flatware set made by silvermakers Grann & Laglye. The set has a beautiful hand-hammered finish. Only the three-pronged fork and the teaspoon have a monogram to the backs of their handles, TGC. The rest have never been monogrammed. The set includes:
  • 8 table spoons - 6 7/8 inches long
  • 1 teaspoon - 5 7/8 inches long
  • 10 5 o'clock teaspoons - 5 3/8 inches long
  • 5 coffee spoons - 4 5/8 inches long
  • 7 dinner forks - 7 7/8 inches long
  • 5 luncheon forks - 7 1/8 inches long
  • 2 sugar spoons - 5 3/8 inches long
  • 1 serving spoon - 7 3/4 inches long
  • 1 cocktail fork or three-pronged fork - 6 1/4 inches long

All the pieces except the demitasse spoons are marked with the Danish three towers mark for 826 silver purity, the assayer's mark CFH for Christian F. Heise, the D hammer A mark in a shield-shaped punch for the Dansk Arbedje trade association, and the G hammer L maker's mark used by Grann & Laglye, who began work in Copenhagen in 1906. These flatware pieces were done between 1924-1930. The demitasse spoons are a little later and are marked with the Danish three towers mark with the number 54 for 1954 and the stylized GL for Grann & Laglye.

The overall condition is excellent. The handle of the teaspoon still has the original finish, but the bowl has been worn smooth. The hand hammered finish is still present on all the other pieces. One table spoon has scratches to the bowl. Three forks have small indents, and we have pointed these out in the last photos. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no other dents, no chips and no repairs.

The set weighs 44.82 ounces or 1270.7 grams.
