$480.00
Presented is a nice set of 4, American sterling silver dinner size forks made during the mid 19th century. These pieces are in the Grecian pattern. This pattern is mostly associated with the Whiting Manufacturing Company. However the pattern was first made by Henry Hebbard of New York in 1862, and these 4 forks were made by Hebbard. This set was retailed by Tiffany and Co. of New York. Each handle has a ram’s head at the tip, whose horns wrap around to continue the design on the back. There is a little devil’s head below an acorn design in the center of each handle. The back of the tines have the same acorn embellishment as seen on the front of the handle. Each front cartouche is monogrammed “MK”, in a flowing script.
The back of each fork is marked sterling along with the mark for Tiffany & Co and patent 1862. The forks are also stamped H.H. for Henry Hebbard.
This set is in good overall condition. The pattern decorations are worn but still recognizable. Let the photos be your guide.
There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
