Presented is an antique set of 4 English sterling silver demitasse, tea or coffee spoons made by Hester Bateman of London in 1786. This set is done in a classic form and the front of each handle has a hand engraved monogram of the initials SW.
The back of each piece is marked with the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter l for the year 1786 and a maker's mark for Hester Bateman.
This set is in good condition, especially for its age. A couple of the bowls have minor dents, as does the tip of 1 spoon. All quite minor.
Length: 4 5/8 inches.
Weight: 38 grams.
