Presented is a great set of 3 English sterling silver demitasse spoons made by Thomas Bradbury & Sons. The spoons have a matching smooth finish design on the front of the handles, but each spoon has a different design on the backs of the bowls. One spoon is decorated with a bird perched in a tree, one has a sailing ship, and one has a fancy shell design. These designs are typically done on the reverse of American silver spoons in the second half to 1700s. This is obviously some type of commemorative set. The spoons have not been monogrammed or engraved.

The spoons are marked on the reverse with the lion passant for sterling silver, the crown for the city of Sheffield, the date letter “X’ for 1965, and a maker’s mark of TB&S for Thomas Bradbury & Sons. The spoons are also marked with Made in England and J. E. Caldwell & Co. for the retailer.

The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.

The spoons are 4 3/8 inches long.

The weight is 41.1 grams or 1.4 ounces.
