3 Antique Late 1700's Philadelphia Coin Silver Brite Cut Forks 8"
Regular price
$294.00
Presented is a set of three antique, heavy coin silver dinner forks made in Philadelphia near the end of the 1700's. These forks are generously-sized at over eight inches long with brite-cut threaded colonial tip handles
There are no monograms on the fronts of the handles, but the backs are hand engraved with a script "M" or "ML". The back of the forks are also stamped with silver maker's marks. On two forks, the maker's initials are "R.W" for Robert Wilson in Philadelphia during the production period 1803-1810. The other fork is stamped "J:B", most likely by John Brown, another Philadelphia silversmith during the same period.
The forks are in very good condition. One of the three has one slightly shortened tine, likely from wear due to its antiquity, but this is still a very fine and usable antique set.
Length: just over 8 inches
Total weight: 211.6 grams
