Presented are two American coin silver serving spoons, almost certainly from New York State. The spoons are monogrammed on the front, but the letters are little worn and it is hard to determine exactly what they are.
Both spoons are hallmarked with a three stamps. The lion and the bust are clearly pseudo-hallmarks, common for American silver in the first half of the 1800s. The center mark is the letter "W". This combination of hallmarks is attributed to Jacob Wood of New York City who was working from 1834 to 1839. The spoons are hallmarked with “B & R” (probably for the retailer, Brower & Rusher c. 1837 - 1842 New York, N.Y.)
The condition is good. There is some surface wear, but this is commensurate with age and light use, but this very minor.
The spoons are 8 1/2 inches long.
The total weight is 99.9 grams or 3.5 ounces.
