Presented is an antique pair of Scottish sterling silver gravy or sauce ladles made around the early 19th century. This piece was made in Edinburgh between 1797 and 1822. The handles are done in a classic, curved form and have no monograms.
The back of each ladle bears the Edinburgh thistle mark for 925 sterling silver purity and the duty mark of the king's head used between 1797 and 1822.
This pair is in excellent overall condition for its age. We believe the handles have had professional monogram removals, but this is not noticeable.
Length: 6 1/4 inches.
Weight: 43 grams.
