Presented is a fine quality piece of Russian porcelain made during the mid to late 19th century. This is a large covered box in the form of a colorful duck. The colors of the duck are quite fanciful.

The piece is signed on the underside of the base under the glaze in blue, and is stamped with an imperial eagle indicating an imperial warrant. Below this is the factory name in Cyrillic letters corresponding to M.S. Kuznetsov. This lovely antique was made in the middle to late 1800s.

The overall condition is excellent. There is one minor chip on the lid. The chip is not visible. It is on the underside of the lip which fits into the lower half of the duck. This is minor and does not interfere with the aesthetics or structural integrity of the piece. Otherwise there are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, no hairlines and no problems of any kind.

The maximum height is 5 inches.

The length from the tail to the tip of the beak is 8 inches.

Its weight is 421 grams or 14.9 regular ounces.
