Presented is a fantastic quality, porcelain Spode Copeland dessert or fruit set, consisting of eight plates and a bowl. This set dates to around the 1920s-1930s. The pieces are done in a beautiful floral pattern featuring wide robin's egg blue borders and gilt detailing. The upper surfaces of the plates and both the interior and the exterior of the bowl feature fabulously hand painted flowers of varying types, all very colorful and detailed.
The plates are marked with the Spode Copeland mark as well as a retail mark for Tiffany & Co. The decoration on the plates is signed A. Ball. The bowl is marked with the Spode mark.
This set is in excellent condition. The gilding and painting is in great shape, with no significant wear or loss that I can see. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs.
The bowl measures about 10 inches in diameter and stands about 4 ¾ inches tall. The plates are about 7 7/8 inches in diameter. -jm
